BIG Dungeness Crabs...little hole-in-the-wall.

Last day at the market...
Last day at Rog and Deirdra’s started out great...drove up the coast and had a nice time at Pelican Pub, checked out Proposal Rock and then headed south along the coast to buy fresh dungeness crab from a local fisherman, unfortunately he had sold out so we headed down to Newport to check with a little seafood market that Roger and Deirdre frequent...thankfully they were fully stocked, we bought a couple of 3-4 pounders (live) and headed for home. After cocktail hour, which starts promptly at 5, Roger began his class in the perfect preparation, cleaning and serving of all things dungeness. I hate to brag but I'm happy to report I am now an expert at preparing, cooking and cleaning these wonderful creatures. We had a tasty meal and while the old ladies (Nancy and Deirdre) cleaned up, we had a glass of cognac. After a long day, good food (and booze) we decided to turn in for the night. Unfortunately at the end of our visit Roger became very ill and had to be taken to the hospital, he was transferred up to Portland that night and as of this writing he is still there. Our thoughts go out to he and Deirdre for his a speedy recovery.
