Here comes Irene!

Key West is a 2 mile X 4 mile bit of land that is home to 24,000 people...this place started out as a military town with over 18,000 troops (mostly sailors) stationed here...in the 1980s with no military, and thus no identity the little island that could turned toward tourism...it's funny that one of the major contributors towards their success was a singer songwriter, this young sailor/adventurer glorified the life style at the end of the Keys. His name of course is Jimmy Buffett. And here we sit in 2011 enjoying all those changes

This place is beautiful and I think it's my kind of place, populated by my kind of people. Unfortunately at this exact moment there is a Hurricane named Irene that is heading our way. After much discussion Nanc and I have decided to "not chance it" and make our getaway tomorrow morning. Leaving a couple days early will help get us out of the way of whatever might happen. So you might say Climate Change is causing us a location change. We'll head up the Atlantic Seaboard tomorrow.

However, we still have today!
