The Ghost Itinerary!

8/01
The hardest day! We left Bob’s about 7am heading for Helena, MT. On Saturday we had heard my mother had been admitted to the hospital because of complications with her dialysis, this is a fairly common occurrence so, while we were worried, we really expected it to be a routine overnight stay. We had also received distressing news about Roger’s condition the day before...Our day went quickly from optimistic to turmoil...my mothers condition has turned into triple bypass surgery in the blink of an eye. Nancy and I had scheduled 2 days in Billings to see old friends from the 80’s...cancelled...a leisurely drive and 4 day stay in Colorado...cancelled...a 2 day visit to an old friend of ours in Kansas City...cancelled...for the 3rd time our perfectly scheduled (one year in advance) itinerary was being reshuffled, and this much planning disturbance in only 3 weeks of travel...Patience, Flexibility, just tell me I promise I’ll learn, but please no more real time lessons! Now we are rushing back to Colorado to pick up everything we need for the next 7.5 months and flying to Sun City, AZ to be with my mom. We love her and wouldn’t consider anything else.

Columbia River Gorge

Couer D'Alene, Idaho

Big Sky Montana

This drive was breath taking...if you like natural beauty!
Later in the day we heard Roger's condition had improved very significantly...thanks for that.
