Nice waking up with a roof over our head...showered in our own shower, collected our gear and made our way to the bus and camp site. After we dropped everything off we headed into Nelson for coffee and a muffin...beautiful day finally, just as we leave the South Island...take the road into Picton and get ready to take the ferry over to Wellington. We lose our guide Holly and driver Steely here and pick up new ones in Wellington...I think Steely was excellent but Holly just a bit immature...the good news is she will grow up, one day at a time like everyone else. I don’t think they work very hard to get these guides...its a part year job so it looks like they just use students who seem capable. Anyway tomorrow is a new day with a new crew up to Auckland...we lose Ethan, Sam (boy), new Steve, Sam (girl), old Steve, Randy, Jeff, and Chris tonight and who knows if we pick up newbees. We don’t really care we only have tonight and tomorrow night and we are off this puppy...on to Gisborne and whatever is next.
