Day 3 Routeburn
Jess wanted to get up early and make the carpark 1st...we were doing great, not a soul even in sight when out of nowhere Maxine comes bounding into us...she left us in the dust so quickly it was frightening...we ended up 2nd but happy...a great feat for us all...we picked up our step over the last bridge. This is something we will hold as a mutual memory for all of our lives...awesome!
After we finished the Routeburn we made our way to Queenstown. This is a wonderful experience and accomplishment. Nanc and Debbie did it with bad knees and Jess has athsma...we took it slow and easy and soaked in every minute. Very hard but something we’ll always remember. When you see the last bridge, cross it and see the finish hut, its impossible to restrain yourself from screaming and raising your arms in triumph...We Did It!!
