Rented a car and headed to Gisborne today...wonderful trip, lots of great scenery and small villages. Finally got into town about 6pm and drove straight to Kath’s house...she looks wonderful and is just as funny as ever...lots of laughter and talk of the good old days. Made it to Suz and David’s house where we are staying for the next 10 days...very cool country house on 20 acres...sheep, horses, a grove of fruit trees and a big stand of corn. Wonderful people, very generous...Kath’s daughter Sophie came over also and joined us for dinner...a terrific night...tomorrow we start exploring Gisborne.
