cathedral cove, hot water beach and deb! Day 4 of 27

Day 4 Jan 17
Picking up Deb today...what a funny start to our day, got into Auckland and had to circle forever trying to find a parking spot...Deb kept seeing us drive by, waved every time, but was thoroughly confused at the game we were playing. We finally found a spot around the corner, came back and grabbed her and ran for a cup coffee....took about an hour to get new and old people sorted out, we lost a few of our gang and picked up quite a few more...this will be a regular thing with people joining and dropping all along the way...I hardly new the old people and now we have so many new ones...the bus gets moving and heads south to Coromandel and the Cathedral Cove...we made great speed the 1st hour, everything is going along fine and then Holly's phone rings...Holly makes the announcement that we have forgotten someone in Auckland...yes, this means we turn around and spend the next 2 hours retracing our steps....when we get back to Auckland we find young Lindsey who a number of us asked if she was with “Flying Kiwi”, and she had answered “no”...nowhere on her itinerary did the words”Flying Kiwi” appear, REALLY, she had booked with a travel company and they used a different name even though she was paid in full for a 27 day stay with the group...very weird!!
Anyway we get back on the road again and head south...very exciting getting some new blood on the bus...we lost a girl who will go unnamed that I thought was the biggest pain in the ass. She was maybe late 20’s early 30’s, had done a bit of travel and was sure God had given her all the keys to the kingdom and answers to every question ever asked...yes, her and I were bound to clash! And it started immediately, when we 1st got on the bus we took her seat, having been directed by Steely the driver, it became clear to me that he wanted to see how this played out...she was pouting from the moment she saw us, it became clear to her immediately I wasn’t going to worship her, and with all her knowledge and wisdom, she was at a loss.

The bus is acting up with light problems that Steely can't figure out...this bus appears to be a real piece...we do get into cathedral cove and spend a very cool hour or two and then onto the camp site...dinner crew reports to cook and Holly has disappeared for over an hour...this girl could really use a course in time management...we have all these people standing around waiting to cook and no direction, we finally get most everything ready in preparation of her return...when she gets back there is no apology or explanation, just Holly being her balls to the wall self. it really sucks, dinner is late and we still have to do wash...by the time I'm free its to late to hit the beach and the hot pools...this is the stuff we came for!!!
