Like a real Vacation...

every set of eyes are starring at you

dave and suz's resort (home)

beautiful

After 27 days of hurry up and wait, sleeping in tents, huts and cabins and eating standing up, we have finally hit the big time! Suze and David's house is like a resort, clean sheets, soft beds, fresh air, real plates and silverware, unlimited supply of electricity, nice big shower and good food. We slept in until about 8am and got up to a house full of nice people...the coffee was super.
David is the Superintendant (like a prinipal) of a school....there is a big difference in the Kiwi and USA methods of running shools ...Principals are actually the "Buck stops here Guy"...they really run the show and even have bottom line responsibility...Dave is very passionate about his job and school...its nice to hear there are those that really seek "what's best for the child solutions", he seems to manage with common sense and moral decency, things missing in to many establishments. Suze also works in education in the office of special needs, and appears just as passionate in what she does...

Cool restaurant
During the day we meant their daughter Rachel, David's mother and 3 of their grandchildren, my 1st impression is this is a loving, close knit family that really embrace each other. As the day wore on we got it together slowly, the morning moved to noon very quickly and it was raining...got dressed and went down to a small outdoor market and picked up a few things, then headed to Kath's for lunch. After much discussion (and consideration of the weather) we decided to go to the concert at one of the local vineyards in the evening...just as we pulled in to the concert area the rain started getting heavier, easy to change plans...instead we headed to a nice restaurant down by the water. The food, wine and conversation were good... then it was home to watch a old comedy, eat a little ice cream and bed...a very good day.
