Melbourne...@ Vee and Ken's

Sunday was pretty restful..nice walk to the beach with Vee...as we walked along the cliffs we spied a huge StingRay so we made our way down to the shoreline in hopes of getting a closeup, never did find him again but walked the shoreline of Sandringham Beach thru Red Bluff Cliffs and onto Half Moon Bay...the walk was pretty tough along the base of the cliffs but we came out the other side a little shaken but happy we'd done it. As we entered Half Moon Bay we noticed a Movie Shoot was in progress, some turn of the century storyline that looked like stranded people on the beach...we had to walk right thru the shoot in order to get out of the way, bet they loved that! Made our way into a cool little beach community, Black rock, where Ken meant us...we stopped at the local grocers and picked up some supplies for the BBQ that evening. Vee had invited a couple friends over for supper and we enjoyed each one of them...interesting people with busy lives and professions. One of her old friends, Carl, is a big Tasmania Lover and stopped by to give us a little insight into things to do and places to go during our visit, I'm sure we have now filled our days there. Ken's brother Jeff is a semi-retired Naval Medical Officer who now works with the flying medical teams of Western Australia, very interesting guy with lots of stories. It was a nice evening.
On Monday we had a rare treat, the broncos game was being telecast on Aussie TV...we were excited to finally see our boy T.Tebow play...game started out fabulous and it looked like we would give the Patriot's a run for their money but reality hit hard in the middle of the 2nd quarter and we found ourselves remembering how far we are away from the elite teams. It was still a great time and we watched every tick of the clock.
After the game Nanc and I walked into the small town of Sandringham and had lunch...all these little towns are small, quaint and very beachy. Spent the late afternoon napping, reading and relaxing. Ken got home around 6 and we headed out for Aussie Pizza...he had me drive...yikes...this wrong side of the road is very hard to negotiate, we got 1 block from their house and I got so close to the parked cars I hit my rearview mirror onto a parked cars mirror an broke it...a little iffy after that, I was very careful...just have to remember short lefts and long rights...keep repeating...short lefts and long rights. Will soon find out the price of a rearview mirror in Australia.
A nice amble.

Finished the evening by watching a movie called "Red Dog"...wonderfully artsy and directed Australia Film with comedy and sorrow woven into a fun story. Early to bed and get ready for tomorrow.
