A day at sea...

Our third day at sea saw more cold, cloudy and rainy weather...tomorrow we are suppose to wake up to beautiful sunshine and warmth. The ship is really rocking from the rough seas and they’ve put puke bags out everywhere, we were in the Solarium enjoying the hot tub and the pool (that was almost like a wave pool)...the pool started moving too much so they closed it and drained out the water....sure was fun while it was happening though. Mostly we spent the day relaxing, reading and talking with different folks. The old people on the ship are very quick to tell you their stories and about their lives. I meant a very cool Egyptian guy who immigrated to Australia years ago...he does research that tries to figure out how insects are able to build up immunities to different insecticides...this guy had presented papers and lectured at a ton of US Universities, I sat in the hot tub and talked with him for an hour...very neat guy...another couple Nanc and I meant were form England...Peter was retired but had worked as the legal (lawyer) aid to a number of Justices in the Court System...evidently the English system of justice tries to keep some common sense in their process so judges do not have to be lawyers (this seems a very good system to me), but they do need legal guidance in some instances. He was a very interesting guy with a real sense of justice and how it should play out. We had seen and spoken to he and his wife in New Castle the day before and they joined us for lunch. In the evening as we were exploring the ship we had the chance to meet part of the Diamond Club from Ships and Anchors...we were passing by as they were enjoying drinks and one of them engaged us in a conversation that quickly included all seven of them and Nanc and I...a great group of people from all over the world that Cruise a lot and enjoy the benefits of free drinks in the evening...they gave us more information than we could possible remember on everything about cruising and our next couple destination.
Tonight was formal night at the dining room with the Captain of the Ship greeting guest and hosting a cocktail hour...since the most formal clothing we have with us is bush pants and shirts, we decided to eat in the little cafe upstairs and then join all the fancy dressers for the evening show of “Leonardo and the Piano Follies”. Wandered around a little and then headed back to the room for a great nights sleep in a rocking boat. Hope tomorrow’s weather improves.
