Nanc and I put on our hiking boots this morning and walked down to the Train Station in Sandringham, heading into the big city. $20 and 30 minutes later we emerged from Flinders Station...the wow factor was in evidence from the minute we emerged from the Tunnel. Melbourne is a vibrant and wonderful city. There are so many cafe's, bars and nooks and cranny's to this place it would take weeks to really explore it. It is easy to find your way around and with the "free circle tram" you don't even get tired. Our 1st stop was the Queen Victoria Market...a huge indoor, outdoor market that features everything and anything...food, clothing, knick knacks, whatever. I'm not sure you could even visit every kiosk in one day because it's only open from 6am to 2pm...fun, fun, fun...lots of good music and funny things to see. From there we walked the path Vee had laid out for us...small streets, alleys and mals within malls abound...no question if something is made you can find it in Melbourne. Lots of Art Decco Buildings to gawk at and even a small, but charming, China Town. We even saw a lady dressed up as an Angel and a guy imitating the Devil! The Xmas season is in full swing so most people were happy and spending, Nanc and I even got into the mood and became consumers...we each bought 2 new pairs of shorts...new duds always make you feel cool and hip. You can look for these new cloths in future photos...I promise we will look sharp and stylish. All in all, a fun filled and enjoyable day...can't wait until tomorrow...not sure what we're doing but we are loving Australia!
