Cairns...

12/10
Woke up in Cairns this morning...today we visited Green Island and the inner part of the Great Barrier Reef, it’s about 1 1/2 hours out and the day was sun filled, warm and muggy. There’s lots of activities available on the island including scuba, snorkel, submersibles, glass bottom boats, a croc show, national park hike or just the beach. We decided to try the glass bottom boat to view the coral and sea life. We saw tons of fish, every color, size and shape, lots of coral and even an old turtle trying to catch a nap.
On the way out Nanc and I got seats on the top deck to enjoy the wind and the view...about 1/2 way there we were approached by a group of Japanese tourist wanting us to pose with them for pictures...it’s gotta be the long hair... they must think we’re some old Hippie Rock Star’s or something...it was a lot like being a prop in a professional shoot...the camera’s they had were so big they could hardly handle them...anyway, if your in Japan and see our pictures posted somewhere this is where they came from. The Japanese were so funny, giggling and mugging the whole time...happy we could make their day.
Arriving at Green Island

The water is so clear.

The whole place is a Park and there's a resort.

Cool scene...

Strange fish...

Glass Bottom Boat

One of The Natural Wonders of the World.

A deserted beach...

The happy travelers.

Blowin in the wind...

Leaving  this very tiny island...
The ship stays in port overnight so we have arranged taking the Kuranda Skyrail over the rainforest tomorrow and then the historic train through Barron River Gorge on the other leg...we get to spend a couple hours in Kuranda Station hanging out...I’m gonna try to find a place Nanc can hold a Koala...I know Koala Garden’s is located in town. This would be something she’d never forget. Collect another memory!
