We woke up this morning to ice on our windshield...ICE! We don’t have any winter clothing...after a little layering we drove into Rome for a short, relaxed day of walking in the city. We started by crossing the bridge into Trastevere where there was a street market going on, walked the streets and had a good look around, crossed back over the Tibur and headed down to Piazza Campo de’ Fiori...bought some fruit at the market there and eventually ended up at Navona Square for lunch again...it’s a fun place to sit and watch the artist as they create...after lunch and a little wine we hiked up to Trevi Fountain and did a little people watching for an hour. Easy to come to Rome and spend 5 or 6 hours, time seems to fly by. Wanting to get out of the city before the major traffic started we meandered back to our car and headed home. A nice peaceful day, we are definitely winding down. Next up is the Amalfi Coast in a little over a week...we are ready.
