State Cinema

We went to a very hip movie theatre today...we planned our day to see a film in the am and then drive out to Bonorong Animal Sanctuary to see the animals up close and personal...the film we wanted to see is called "Hunter", and is about a mercenary hired to go into Tasmania and see if he can find the Tasmanian Tiger...these creatures were suppose to be extinct since 1936 but there had been a couple sightings by locals...anyway William Dafoe's character spent more than half the show out in the rainforest tracking this beautiful animal...so the upside was we saw lots more of Tasmania and we learned quite a bit about the Tasmanian Tiger...I don't want to say anything else about the movie because I'd encourage all of you to see it...you'll find it very educational and entertaining......anyway.......we get to the State Theater and its the most hip, cool and over the top place I've ever seen a movie in...I mean there's artsy and then there is this...Espresso Bar, Wine Bar, Pastries...you name it high end and it was there...Not your bag of popcorn and a soda...the theaters are very small, intimate and comfortable...big leather couches, great sound system and every seat is unabstructed by people in front of you......only down side was the price...each ticket $17 and a coffee and pastry $9...we felt very special sitting there.
